Austin Elsey

Mediator, Case Manager, Forensic Accountant

Analytical. Jovial. Optimist.

Austin has an interesting mix of institutions that provided him his educational foundation. He completed a Bachelor of Science at Missouri Southern State University with a major in finance. Being that Joplin, MO was not an investment banking hub, Mr. Elsey joined a local community bank to build some professional experience. After a semester hiatus, he decided to keep momentum going and pursue his MBA. Mr. Elsey enrolled with the University of Florida through their online program. He was able to complete that program in an accelerated format. In addition to institutional education, he has obtained certifications as a Certified Management Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Credit Risk Certification, Certified in Strategic and Competitive Analysis, and Master Analyst in Financial Forensics. He is currently working on his Doctorate in Business Administration at Grand Canyon University. As a professional, Mr. Elsey has spent 17 years in the community banking industry serving as an examiner, consultant, and executive.

Recently, Mr. Elsey transitioned to a Chief Operating Officer role to launch a student loan program for aviation students and a full-time lecturer at Metropolitan State University-Denver to lead their banking degree program. In addition, he has also works as an adjunct professor for Grand Canyon University, serves as a consultant providing strategic advice to banks about credit risks, and truly enjoys being in academia. He has previously been awarded the adjunct professor of the quarter and 40 under 40 from Bizwest in Colorado.

What inspired you to take the path of divorce mediation?

I am excited to use expertise in mediating difficult conversations and pair it with my background in financial analysis to help individuals navigate a difficult time in their life and make sure they are in the best position to be prepared for their next chapter.

Why do you feel divorce mediation is important for couples seeking divorce?

Mediation gives couples the best chance to find an equitable compromise for both parties while also keeping the process cost efficient.
