Mediator
Q&A with Jessica
Why is mediation important to you?
Mediation allows space for conflict to be discussed and resolved among the dissenters themselves. It commands listening and understanding between people while holding individuals accountable and clearing a path for clarity. The beauty of mediation is that in order for it to work, both participants have to be willing and present for the process. Getting to work with people who want to resolve their differences and are open to the creative process that mediation permits is the next level of human communication that fascinates me.
Why did you begin working in mediation?
I spent many years on the contentious side of the divorce process and saw too much emotional and financial waste. I knew there had to be a better way and wanted to play an active role in the empowerment and positive resolution side of divorce instead. Working in the field of mediation allows me to help people directly and feel good about the service I'm providing my community.
What are your responsabilities at GDM?
I am a non-attorney mediator in the process of acquiring my CDFA certification.
What are your top hobbies?
I spend my time traveling, gardening, doing yoga, and recording podcasts on the life of a modern American female.
Who do you love hanging out with the most?
My husband is probably my most favorite person in the world and we always have a great time together no matter what we are doing.
