Divorce Mediator - Part Time
Position Overview:
Help couples navigate the complex & emotional process of divorce by facilitating constructive dialogue & negotiations while remaining neutral. Lead couples in identifying issues while exploring options, to find mutually agreeable solutions on division of property, parenting plans, child support, maintenance & other divorce-related issues without litigation. Create & provide supporting financial documents & contracts. Our goal is to guide clients through our unique & proven process with care and communication, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed every step of the way. This role focuses on communication, problem-solving, and the emotional dynamics of conflict resolution rather than legal advocacy. We are committed to excellence, operating with integrity, compassionate neutrality, and flexible collaboration.
Primary Responsibilities:

Mediation: Facilitate discussions between clients to help them reach agreements regarding key issues such as property division, maintenance, child support, parenting, and other relevant matters, following our proven process.

Provide Guidance: Offer general information about the divorce process, the legal guidelines that apply to the couple’s situation, the various options available for resolving disputes, and the potential consequences of certain decisions. Think outside the box to help find solutions that work for both parties. Be adaptable, as each case has unique needs.

Conflict Resolution: Use conflict resolution techniques and communication skills to reduce tensions and help both parties find compromise solutions. Communicate clearly complex matters in simple terms, while ensuring each party is fully informed.

Emotional Support: Provide a calm and empathetic presence while helping clients work through the emotional and practical aspects of divorce with sensitivity. Understanding & managing emotions, being able to calmly de-escalate conflicts to refocus the conversation on the resolution. Be comfortable working in the uncomfortable.

Compassionate Neutrality: Maintain neutrality throughout the process, creating an environment where each party feels heard and respected. Actively listening to allow each party to express their points, while helping to identify potential underlying issues that may not be immediately obvious.

Confidentiality: Build trust by ensuring that discussions and documents remain appropriately confidential, promoting a safe space for open dialogue.

Draft Agreements: Prepare and document the terms of agreements reached during mediation. Ensure both parties understand the terms and the legal, financial & tax implications of those agreements. Write clearly, using proper grammar and professional formatting.

Organization & Documentation: Keep clear and organized records, paying attention to detail and tracking progress, to prevent confusion and avoid future conflicts.

Time Management: Maintain a clean & accurate calendar, schedule case work, tasks, reviews, and meet deadlines.

Referrals: Advise clients to get legal advice when questions or discrepancies arise and introduce clients to GDM/DAC referral partners when appropriate.

Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training to stay up to date with the latest techniques, best practices, and legal changes. Be enrolled in and working towards or have successfully completed CDFA certification and keep current on continuing education credits.

Self-Care: Mediation can be emotionally taxing, especially when working with high-conflict cases. A successful mediator needs to take care of their own mental health and emotional well-being to prevent burnout and maintain the ability to serve clients effectively.

Flexibility: Know our process but be willing & able to adjust & pivot when needed under certain circumstances.

· Attend 1-on-1 meetings with Leslie & Case Manager
· Copy Leslie, CRM & Case Manager on client emails
· Accurately track time worked & bill client timesheet appropriately in a timely manner
· Maintain calendar availability for scheduling
· Schedule time blocks for casework, tasks & deadlines visible on calendar
· Communicate casework needs to team
· Complete assigned work on time
· Proficient Use of Technologies and Apps- Microsoft OneDrive, Word, Excel, Adobe,
Google Drive, Calander Apps, Basecamp, Specific Software (FLS), CRM, Zoom, etc.
· Proficient use of GDM Terminology
· Use of GDM Templates when appropriate
· Proficient Writing Skills- pay attention to details
· Facilitate 4 DAC Saturday Bootcamps per year
· Review Client File before meeting to prepare & meet recap deadlines
· Use Basecamp Workflow Cards to track progress & communicate with team members
· Add/Remove watermarks to documents when appropriate
· Utilize client time efficiently and appropriately

Intake & Outreach Coordinator- Part Time
Position Overview:
Responsible for managing the initial phase of client contact for services, including gathering essential information, assessing client needs, and directing them to the appropriate resources or services. Serve as a liaison between the clients, case manager, and the mediator, ensuring everyone is informed of the schedule, expectations, and requirements. Engage and support community efforts, marketing, and relationship building to industry partners to expand awareness of the value of our services.
Primary Responsibilities:

Initial Contact: Gather relevant information about the parties involved in the case and assess the suitability of mediation as an option. Ensure a welcoming, professional, and supportive experience for all clients.

Case Assignment: Assign appropriate mediators to the case based on the complexity and needs of the parties & schedule Initial Consultation, Mediation, Divorce Preview, Settlement Consultation, Coaching, Annual Tune Up or other relevant services.

Communication: Provide clients with empathetic and nonjudgmental experience during the intake process. Ensure clients feel valued and heard. Provide information to clients on what to expect from the mediation process, answer questions, and address any concerns to help them prepare. Clearly inform clients of what will be needed and what to expect moving forward.

Follow-Up: Reach out to clients after initial contact or appointments to ensure they have the necessary resources and provide reminders for upcoming appointments or additional steps they need to take.

Prospect Funnel: Maintain running follow up lead list for prospects who have not yet contracted our services & contact periodically to keep them “warm”.

Client Support: Offer a supportive, empathetic point of contact for clients throughout the process. Provide guidance and resources to help them through emotional or logistical challenges. Address any issues or concerns that clients may have during the intake process, whether logistical, procedural, or emotional.

Outreach & Engagement: Assist with marketing initiatives, including community presentations, networking events, and referral outreach. Build and maintain relationships with professionals (therapists, financial planners, attorneys, etc.) who may refer clients. Support the development of educational materials, newsletters, and social media content.

Administrative Support: Maintain client databases and track inquiries, referrals, and outreach activities. Prepare reports on intake trends and outreach results.

Case Manager - Part Time
Position Overview:
Responsible for overseeing and managing mediation cases from initiation to resolution. This role involves organization, coordination, communication, and support to both the clients and mediators, ensuring the smooth operation of the mediation process.
Primary Responsibilities:

Organization: Verify & organize client provided documents & information received.

Administrative Support: Track cases through our process, managing multiple cases simultaneously while ensuring all documentation, deadlines, and logistics are handled efficiently.

Data Entry & Casework: Keep client file within software accurate and up to date.

Document Preparation: Create Baseline Reports, Worksheets, and Documents for drafting to mediators. Pay attention to details, reviewing mediator documents for errors and formatting.

Communication: Schedule reminders for client meetings. Keep mediators appraised of case details, needs, and current casework.

Understanding: Have a basic understanding of the mediation process, the sensitive nature of our work, and the unique nature of the industry.

Flexibility: Know our process but be willing and able to adjust & pivot when needed under certain circumstances.
